“High specification” is a version note, not a quality grade
How a buyer should record high/low catalog wording without turning it into a quality claim.
A short remark can change meaning as it moves from a catalog to an RFQ. SAP-B219 and SAP-B219A are both recorded as 8P for BENZ Actros MP2 / MP3, yet their OE numbers differ and the supplied remarks say high and low specification. That wording identifies two catalog versions; it does not tell us that one is better made.
What the two records actually say
SAP-B219 carries OE A9435451704 and the note 8P high specification. SAP-B219A carries OE A9435451804 and 8P low specification. Keep all four fields together: requested OE, candidate SAP code, 8P note and version wording. If one field changes, treat the line as a different proposal.
Do not translate “high” into “premium quality”
High or low may refer to equipment level or control layout, but the catalog does not define it. A quotation should reproduce the version term and ask which visible controls, connector details and markings distinguish it. Quality, material and test requirements need their own agreed evidence; the version label cannot answer them.
A useful approval sentence
Write: “Required OE ___; supplier proposes SAP-___; catalog version ___; connector and control layout to be confirmed against our reference photos.” Attach the front, rear connector and label images. This gives purchasing, supplier and receiving teams one checkable statement instead of an unexplained word such as high.
Purchasing guidance, not installation or diagnostic instructions. Confirm compatibility and specifications with the supplier and a qualified technician.
