A flasher-relay RFQ needs function, voltage and reference
Four catalog records show why “24V relay” is not a complete request.
SAP-V181, SAP-R132 and SAP-I135 are flasher records with different OE numbers and notes of 6P, 16P and 13P at 24V. SAP-S124 is recorded separately as an 8P 24V headlamp relay. Voltage describes only one field; it does not turn different functions and terminal layouts into alternatives.
Name the function before counting pins
State whether the original requirement is a flasher unit, headlamp relay or another control. Copy the complete OE and marked voltage. Then record the visible terminal count and mounting form. Do not start with a search for any 24V housing.
Request the right technical evidence
Ask for the proposed unit’s terminal or contact diagram and relevant rating information from a reliable source. A 6P, 13P or 16P note is not a terminal assignment. Purchasing should not bridge terminals or energize an unknown relay to discover its function.
Keep brand and OE evidence distinct
VOLVO, RENAULT, IVECO and SCANIA are application labels in these separate catalog records. They are not a cross-brand interchange list. One RFQ line should retain one requested identity, while any proposed alternative is shown and reviewed separately.
Close the sample review in writing
If a sample is agreed, identify it by SKU, marking and document revision. Record which visual, dimensional and professional functional checks were completed and which were not. Sample availability, cost, certification, warranty and bulk lead time still require an order-specific answer.
